FAQs

Below are answers to some Frequently Asked Questions that many of our clients have…

  • All our sessions are LIVE and interactive with a trained educator! We feel that the best way to learn how your child learns best and to most effectively adapt material to their needs is to have live, interactive and engaging sessions.

  • We work with ALL ages - we have learning coaches and trained educators that can work with all students, K-12. But we also have training and instruction for adults - including parents or professional educators who want to enhance their educational and teaching skills. We believe that learning is a life-long endeavor and that we can help boost your own learning to help you succeed no matter where you are in your educational journey.

  • Absolutely! Our learning coaches and trained educators are here to help ALL people to learn - whether that be support for students learning while quarantined, students learning remotely during school closures or supporting homeschool educators and students with their curriculums - we focus on enhancing intellectual development and achievement to promote success through learning. We tailor our instruction style and techniques to the individual’s needs and style as well as to their specific context and goals.

  • We believe in every child’s ability to learn - irrespective of their own abilities or any labels that may exist. Because we take an individualized and tailored approach to learning, this means that every person has their own needs and capabilities when it comes to advancing their own learning and achievement. We work with each student and their families to understand both the needs and goals of each student, and together we develop a plan that ensures that we successfully meet those needs as well as ensure your child’s success.

  • Yes, of course. Not all students learn in the same way or at the same pace, and we understand that learning is more than about rote memorization and repetition. We want our students to develop a deep understanding of the concepts they are working with, and to develop their own understanding of how they learn and process information. Therefore, we see every assignment as an opportunity to boost learning and promote achievement. We will deliver the expertise and experience to help each student not only complete their assignments and keep on pace - even when forced to work individual due to quarantining or school closures - but to also feel good about their work product and learning progression.

  • It depends on what type of session is right for the student. Some 1-on-1 sessions can be 30 minutes of dedicated instruction or coaching time - but these can be adjusted to be longer or shorter depending on the individual’s schedule, learning style and ability to learn within a set timeframe. We also have blocks of time when students have an instructor available so that they can receive help when and as they need - they can receive help with assignments, feedback or instruction as they need over the course of the day as they would with any teacher or instructor.

  • We identify what each students needs are and what learning objectives are important for their success. For some, this means focusing on developing a deeper understanding of concepts in their learning curriculum that they are currently struggling with. For others, we work to boost their critical thinking and analytical skills in order to enhance their performance across all areas of their life. In other words, we focus on helping students “learn how to learn” - and to do so in a positive, constructive and individualized way.

  • We have the ability to do individual 1-on-1, small group sessions or a mix of these approaches - it all depends on the needs and goals of our students. Some people need consistent and focused 1-on-1 support, while others learn by watching others learn through group discussion and interaction. Some learning styles rely heavily on question-and-answer interaction while others rely on applying concepts to hands-on or experiential projects. Most learning styles can benefit from both 1-on-1 instruction or from group learning, depending on the needs and goals of the student. We work continuously to ensure that our students get the most out of each session by evaluating progress, strengths and areas of improvement.
